BOGOF day in support of Framework

Framework is a registered charity working within Nottinghamshire to provide housing, support, training, care and resettlement services to homeless and vulnerable people. As the season of Harvest Festival is approaching, Framework is asking local schools, churches, groups and individuals to ‘Buy one, give one Framework’.

So over the next few weeks, when you go to the supermarket, keep an eye out for ‘Buy one Get One Free’ offers and save the free one for Framework. Things that can be stored are needed, such as canned food, rice, pasta, tea, cereals, toiletries, light bulbs, wash powder, but not perishable items.

Please bring your items to church by Sunday 19th October, and the Church Warden will arrange delivery to Framework.

Book reviews

There has been a suggestion that we have an area on the website where people can let us know about books they have read that were particularly interesting, inspiring or instructive.

If you would like to share your experience of anything you have read, please give details to the web editor, and if there is sufficient response we can make it a feature of the website.

John Butler

Our friend John Butler has recently published a book about general spirituality, entitled Wonders of Spiritual Unfoldment. You can find it on Amazon here. If anyone would like to submit a review we would be glad to consider it for inclusion in the website or newsletter. Many congratulations to John! And also, belatedly, to his wife Tatiana, who is also a published author ( see Tatiana’s article in the newsletter).

Mary Cunningham

Mary has recently added to her published work with a new book entitled Wider Than Heaven: Eighth-century Homilies on the Mother of God.  She has translated and edited the texts and provided a very interesting commentary. It is published by SVS and further details may be found here.
We are delighted to hear of this work and congratulate Mary upon its publication.
